How to play C7/B♭

  1. Lay your first finger flat across every string from the D string to the high E string at the eighth fret.
  2. Place your second finger on the ninth fret of the G string.
  3. Strum only the D, G, B and high E strings.

Tips for new players

  • Keep your thumb behind the neck and let your fingers arch.
  • Press just behind the fret, not on top of it, so every string rings clearly.
  • Play the plain chord first, then this slash chord, and listen to how the new bass note changes the sound.
